{Haiti Hopes}

happy saturday everyone, i hope you all are relaxed and rejuvenated after this week. i have some exciting news to share with you!!!

{ i am going to haiti }

i am just a little excited... okay well, alot excited!
in may i am traveling with a team of young adults from church to haiti in may. i just cannot contain my excitement. a little over a year ago i really felt god tugging at my heart that it was time to go into the mission field again and serve him. in high school i was able to go to ecuador and mexico twice on a missions trip, but because of other things in my life (i.e school) i just could not go on a trip. i really feel god has a time and place for everything and he was preparing my heart for something bigger. over the past two years since the earthquake epidemic in haiti in 2010 and then the cholera epidemic about a year later, i knew my heart was in haiti, i knew that god wanted me to be his hands and feet in a country that was at its darkest hour . over the past two years i have tried to go on emergency response teams with samaritans purse, but it was just not feasible for me to go for 2 months when i was in the middle of school, i just knew god was visbally shutting the door to the opportunities that came up. knowing all along that god was preparing my heart for this opportunity blows my mind away. god knew that i would be going on this trip two years ago , when my heart was aching to serve these people.

i am just so overwhelmed with excitement and joy and gratitude that i can serve the haitian people and share the joy , hope , and healing power of the gospel with them.  they have been through such a dark two years , and they are still recovering form the devastation that they have all experienced, but to know that there is a god that uses these trials for something bigger is so amazing.

to be completely honest i am taking a huge leap of faith going to haiti, i am raising support , finishing up my senior research for my college degree, paying off student loans, trying to save money in general. and at times it is overwhelming to think about paying for this trip, but when i think it is overwhelming i think of the god that we serve. a god that does not give us more than we can handle, and gives us the desires of our hearts, we cannot put our god in a box and limit what he can do.

 i would love more than anything for you to be in prayer for my team as we raise support and strive to be the hands and feet to those in haiti.

{how could you not love this face}

{children waiting for food after the earthquake}

{ these are the tent cities that still exist in haiti since the earthquake... hundred of thousands living in tents with no running water,  electricity etc... this is why so many people were effected with cholera}

{ just a small glimpse of the devistation from the earthquake}

with love,
